Renelda Arkebauer

Renelda Arkebauer was the spouse of the late Dr. Herbert Arkebauer, known as "Dr. A."

Dr. A was a professor at MSU from 1978-96 and served as department head for communication sciences and disorders.

"Herb loved working for Missouri State and teaching students. When he retired, a scholarship fund was set up in his name, and we just wanted to make sure it kept going."

Arkebauer took advantage of the IRA Charitable Rollover to give to Missouri State.

"It was very simple. There is nothing to it. All I had to do was sign my name, directing our plan administrator to donate the money to MSU. Ordinarily, I would have to pay taxes on the money that I draw out, but with this I do not because it's a donation."
